Flexible vs fixed reservations

Edited

At some of our managed properties, we offer two different types of monthly parking reservations: flexible end date and fixed end date.

Flexible End Date

For flexible end date reservations:

  • You reserve a long-term parking spot with no end date selected.

  • You'll be charged for the reservation automatically each month, indefinitely.

  • You can cancel the reservation whenever it's no longer needed and receive a prorated refund based on the cancellation time.

  • You can freely switch to a different parking spot in the app by making a new reservation for another spot and canceling your previous one.

At some lots, flexible is the only option.

When you have a choice between flexible and fixed end date reservations, flexible is usually best when you're not sure about your parking situation — such as when you're considering selling your car, or if you don't know how long you'll need parking at your location.

Flexible reservations are typically more expensive than fixed end date reservations, since locations usually offer a discount on fixed end date reservations.

Fixed End Date

For fixed end date reservations:

  • You reserve a long-term parking spot with a selected end date (typically an apartment lease end date, but this can vary).

  • The duration must be at least the minimum duration required.

  • The price is typically a discounted amount compared to the monthly price for a flexible reservation in the same spot.

  • You are locked in for using the spot selected for the duration of time selected.

    • Cancellations and spot changes are subject to fees and must be arranged by contacting us at hello@parkade.com.
