How to find and reserve an accessible parking space on Parkade

Edited

If accessible parking spaces are available on the Parkade app at your building, you can find them in the search results of the app. After searching for a parking spot in the app, you can apply filters to search for spots of specific types.

By default, all spot types will be selected. To specify certain features (such as Accessible), tap on "All spots," then tap on features to select or de-select them, then tap "Apply." That will filter your list of search results to just the spaces matching the types you selected.

If you cannot find any results

If no accessible space results are displayed after filtering for accessible spaces, there may be a couple of reasons:

  1. All rentable accessible parking spaces have been reserved by other parking lot users

  2. Some (or all) accessible spaces may not be rentable on Parkade

Your building may have policies that allow for first-come, first-serve parking in some, or all accessible spaces. In those cases, please refer to your building's rules on utilizing these spaces.

The app said no accessible spaces are available, but there is an open accessible space. Can I park there?

Generally, if a spot is not available in the app, and accessible spots in your community must be reserved, the space is not available for your use and it has been reserved by another resident. Please do not park in accessible spaces you do not have an active reservation for. This may violate Parkade and your community's rules, and may subject you to enforcement action.

Remember to refer to your community's rules, as there may be some spaces that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If I have a disabled persons parking placard or license plate do I have to park in an accessible space?

No! You can select any space that is available in the app.
