How to find and reserve an accessible parking space

Edited

If accessible parking spaces are available on the Parkade app at your building, you can find them in the search results of the app. After searching for a parking spot in the app, you can apply filters to search for spots of specific types.

Filtering search results

By default, all spot types will be selected. To specify certain features (such as Accessible), tap on All spots, tap on features to select or de-select them, then tap Apply. That will filter your list of search results to just the spaces matching the types you selected.

No search results

If no accessible spaces are listed after filtering for accessible spaces, that may be due to a couple of reasons:

  • All rentable accessible parking spaces have been reserved by others.

  • Some (or all) accessible spaces may not be rentable on Parkade.

Your building may have policies that allow for first-come, first-serve parking in some or all accessible spaces. In those cases, please refer to your building's rules on using these spaces.

Common questions

The app said no accessible spaces are available, but one is empty. Can I park there?

Generally, if a spot is not available in the app and accessible spots in your lot must be reserved, you cannot park in the space since it has been reserved by someone else.

Please do not park in accessible spaces you do not have an active reservation for. This may violate Parkade's and your community's rules, and may subject you to enforcement action.

Remember to refer to your community's rules, since there may be some spaces that are available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

If I have a disabled persons parking placard or license plate do I have to park in an accessible space?

No! You can select any space that is available in the app.
